| Announcement summary: | Sunstone Metals Ltd (ASX: STM) is pleased to announce the discovery from drilling undertaken in December 2022 of a well mineralised gold-copper porphyry system at the Limon target within the Bramaderos project in southern Ecuador. The Limon target area is located 2.7km north-east of the Brama-Alba gold-copper deposit, which hosts a porphyry Resource of 2.7Moz AuEq (Figure 1; see ASX announcement dated 13 December 2022). This discovery reinforces the concept of multiple gold-copper porphyry systems within the 50km2 Bramaderos concession and highlights the potential for significant growth of mineral resources at higher grades. Sunstone Managing Director Malcolm Norris said “The Limon discovery could have a potentially substantial impact on the total resource, the overall grade and the upfront development options at Bramaderos. “These results are very exciting because they deliver ore-grade porphyry mineralisation in drilling that extends from surface over substantial widths. “The shallow and relatively higher grades allow us to contemplate development options that may include higher grade starter pits. “We are also now drilling some strong soil gold anomalies associated with high sulphidation style epithermal gold-copper targets at Limon (Figure 2). “These results from Limon are highly significant to growing the resource base at Bramaderos. We have drilled a relatively high-grade porphyry gold-copper system over significant width that extends from surface and remains open. This initial intersection will be followed up over the next few months. |
